Dr. Abhay Kumar is a highly skilled Cardio Thoracic & Vascular Surgeon with more than 20 years of experience in his field of specialization. He has performed more than 8000 open heart surgeries which includes various cardiac procedures – coronary artery bypass grafting, congenital heart surgery, valve replacement and repair, aortic aneurysm surgery, peripheral vascular surgery, ventricular assist device, and heart transplant. Dr Abhay is credited for initiating the minimally invasive cardiac surgery program at Max Hospital, Saket, New Delhi.

His special interest lies in minimally invasive cardiac surgery, redo cardiac surgery, aortic aneurysm surgery, valve repair /replacements, beating heart coronary bypass, total arterial coronary bypass surgery. He has also been extensively involved in the field of Paediatric Cardiac surgery and has done research work on Bidirectional Glenn, Fontan procedure & Ebstein anomaly.
